In this role, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, including those with hearing impairments, ensuring they have access to a fully inclusive learning environment. What Were Looking For: BSL Proficiency: Essential experience in British Sign Language (BSL), with the ability to communicate effectively with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Special Needs Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school or educational setting. Compassionate & Patient: A caring approach and patience when supporting students with additional needs, understanding the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment. Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each student. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students with hearing impairments, using BSL to enhance communication and understanding. Assisting the class teacher in adapting lessons and activities to suit the needs of students with SEN. Supporting students social, emotional, and academic development in line with their individual needs and educational goals. Building positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence.
