Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality and engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners in Year 2. Monitor, assess, and track pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support where needed. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages children's academic and social development. Differentiate lessons and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND and EAL. Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress. Contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including events, trips, and extracurricular opportunities. Year 2 Teacher Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum, particularly for Year 2. A commitment to raising standards and delivering outstanding teaching. Excellent classroom management and organisational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate young learners to achieve their best. A reflective, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching. A commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing positively to the school community.
