Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, with experience in various construction techniques including masonry and joinery. This role requires the ability to fabricate and install structures, perform heavy lifting, and utilise both power and hand tools effectively. The Carpenter will work on diverse projects, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Responsibilities
1. Construct, install, and repair structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
2. Perform masonry work as needed for various projects.
3. Execute joinery tasks to create custom furniture or fixtures.
4. Fabricate wooden structures according to specifications and blueprints.
5. Conduct painting and finishing tasks to enhance the appearance of completed work.
6. Operate power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders safely and efficiently.
7. Use hand tools effectively for precise measurements and cuts.
8. Assist with roofing projects by installing rafters, trusses, and sheathing.
9. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site.
10. Maintain a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques including masonry and joinery.
3. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
4. Proficiency in using both power tools and hand tools relevant to carpentry tasks.
5. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
7. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
8. Valid driving licence may be advantageous for travel between job sites.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour

1. Joinery: 1 year (preferred)
2. Carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
1. CSCS Skilled Worker (required)
