We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of an Environmental Health Practitioner, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.66 - £23.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
* Deliver high quality Environmental Health Services as part of a team of officers, ensuring the implementation of policies, practices and procedures relating to Environmental Health Services/Housing functions. To ensure that Council policies, including its Scheme of Delegation, are applied consistently, to promote uniform and equitable standards for all individuals and establishments, thus promoting good practices.
* Personal management of an Environmental Health Services work plan, to secure efficient performance of duties and working flexibly between sections and teams. This will include consistency with management policies and practices of the Council and the Housing and Public Protection Division to meet the needs of a constantly changing service.
* Comply with all financial procedures and policies to ensure that financial probity is maintained.
* Maintain an up-to-date, in-depth knowledge and application of the legislation, procedures and technical aspects relating to Public Protection/Housing functions, offer professional and expert advice as required and enabling the consistent delivery of the Housing and Public Protection Business Plan objectives.
* Prepare reports when required, take corrective action when necessary and respond to changing needs, to achieve service delivery within the pre-determined objectives for Public Protection and personal work plans.
Qualifications:
* M.Sc, B.Sc or Diploma in Environmental Health.
* Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board / Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Experience:
* Demonstrable experience in Environmental Health Services.
