The Role
As a Finance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Taking on responsibility for Fixed and Lease asset accounting, ensuring the application of best practice, standardisation and effective controls.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working in the Central Accounting team in the newly formed Finance Business Services (FBS) department, acting as a key point of contact both internally and externally on all aspects of Fixed and Lease Asset accounting across the Group:
1. Managing a small team of Fixed and Lease Asset accountants.
2. Oversight of the Group’s IFRS 16 BPC tool and associated accounting and the interface to ERP systems.
3. Business partnering with lease asset stakeholders both internally and externally regarding the management and maintenance of ongoing leases.
4. Central point of contact for Fixed and Lease Assets for businesses in the UK and play a coordination and support role with colleagues in France, Canada and Australia relating to aircraft assets as required.
5. Working within the capital investment team in the area of capital expenditure proposals, overseeing the process to full approval in a timely manner to enable the successful delivery of the capex portfolio.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with one day in the office and four days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Finance Manager:
6. Hands-on experience of managing and developing a team within a Finance function, ideally in a complex international business environment
7. Strong experience in reviewing and improving finance processes with a fresh perspective.
8. Technical finance skills would benefit, including ability to understand and interpret accounting principles such as IAS 16 Property, and Plant and Equipment and IFRS16 Lease Accounting.
9. Demonstrates commercial awareness with a good understanding of the business environment including customers, competitors, etc.
10. Experience of Finance IT applications (e.g., SAP, NAV (Navision, IFS, etc.).
Qualifications for the Finance Manager:
11. You must hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.
