Job responsibilities Professional leadership to all nurses, midwives & AHPs across the trust. Support the delivery and maintenance of CQC fundamental standards Promotes and facilitates the continued integration of quality improvement and transformation into everyday practice. Line-management responsibility for the Associate Directors of Nursing / or equivalent professional role covering several teams, including patient safety, patient experience, IPC, chaplains, practice education and safe staffing The post holder will be responsible for a corporate portfolio (safeguarding, MCA, MHA, LD) and provide nursing advice as required to ensure safe and effective systems are in place for vulnerable patients and their families and working closely with members of the Trust safeguarding teams. To work closely with operational colleagues and provide leadership in regard to the monitoring of quality standards through the Trust performance management process and encourage and enable continuous improvement. To act as role model, mentor, coach ensuring the direct reports and indirect reports are supported to achieve their potential with clear goals and priorities aligned to those in the organisation Acts in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Code of Conduct Communicates and receive highly complex information, some of which may be highly sensitive and contentious and is able to influence and negotiate in situations where there is resistance. The post holder will be expected to work across sites. Ensures that the nursing service is of the highest quality, working in collaboration with all stakeholders. Holds and manage a delegated budget for pay and non-pay elements of the nursing budget Lead and manage disciplinary and grievance matters in accordance with the Trusts policies Leads and provides professional leadership to senior staff groups within nursing including setting objectives for the corporate nursing Management team Ensures that the professional contributions of nursing throughout the Trust are firmly aligned to the achievement of Trust wide objectives Acts as a Trust wide nursing representative in multi professional and managerial forums, both internally and externally Analyse highly complex information in relation to a number of situations including performance targets and strategic objectives Represent the organisation at local and national level in relevant areas of patient experience and safeguarding Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding, MCA, MHA, LD issues Interpret NHS Policy and advise on implications for patient experience and safeguarding Develop supporting policies to develop safeguarding and patient experience Represent the trust on Local safeguarding boards Adults & Children Participate in the Trusts senior management on-call rota
