Vacancy: Operations Management Accountant Closing Date: Wednesday 9 th April 2025 Shortlisting Date: Thursday 10th April 2025 Interview Date: week commencing Monday 14th April 2025 Salary: £46,983.57 This role is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. Purpose of Role: You will support on the delivery of all strategic, corporate and operational aspects associated with the management and project accounting service across the operations directorate. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to provide analysis of key financial information to support decision making process and identify areas of improvement to deliver value for money. You will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager and members of the corporate management team to drive cultural and organisational change to achieve the overall business aims. Specifically, the Operations Management Accountant will: This role is responsible for the delivery of the management accountant function across the operations directorate. You will support the finance leadership team with a strong customer focus and in a cost-effective way. You will provide an innovative approach to the management accounting function, supporting a coaching culture, contributing to transformational change as well as continuous improvement. You will be responsible for leading the annual financial planning process across the operations directorate, communicating assumptions and challenging submissions. You will be responsible for the production the monthly management accounts for the operations directorate, including monthly forecasting and supporting budget holders to provide supporting commentary on performance against budget and forecast. You will be responsible for influencing and coaching stakeholders to support key initiatives by providing financial modelling and analysis and recommending opportunities, ideas & solutions that help improve the short and long term performance of key business functions. You will contribute to the development of and ensure the adherence to corporate policies including financial regulations, risk management, health & Safety, confidentiality, data protections, contract management and codes of conduct. You will promote an organisation wide culture of providing value through effective management accounting services, delivering efficient and robust budget setting, forecasting, monthly reporting and financial analysis. You will review the accuracy and legitimacy of recorded financial transactions and related reports making recommendations for the appropriate accounting and reporting treatment for certain transactions. You are responsible for ensuring that balance sheet recording is accurate, that monthly reconciliations are undertaken, the financial system integrity is maintained, and the management of cost centres are communicated across relevant individuals. You will be responsible for providing expert support to stakeholders of the finance frameworks, including problem solving and design and delivery of training and development.
