About the role
This is a unique and fantastic opportunity to join one of the best state schools and PE departments with a long tradition of both academic and sporting success. Grey Court PE is outstanding in every aspect. We achieved 100% 9-4 GCSE grades in 2022 with 82% achieving grades 9-7. In our post 16 provision for BTEC Sport Level 3 we achieved 100% pass rate at D* to Merit. We thrive in our extra curricular sport in terms of the activities we provide and the success we achieve. We run a very successful sports scholarship programme in year 7 for selected students, followed by elite programmes from year 8 onwards. In the 2022-2023 season alone we were crowned National Champions in Gymnastics, Regional and County Champions in Basketball and Rugby, Borough Champions in Netball, Basketball, Football and Athletics to name a few. Students regularly represent their sport at County, National and International level outside of school. Grey Court has run many successful sports tours both in the UK and abroad as well as residential trips to national sporting events and competitions.
About You
We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified, motivated and innovative teacher of Girls’ PE who will inspire our young people and further drive girls' PE and school sport provision at Grey Court. The faculty currently offers a wide range of opportunities at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. The post would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher with a proven track record of playing and coaching high level sport. The girls’ department specialises in netball, football, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, cross country and athletics. We expect the successful candidate to be fully committed to our extensive extra curricular programme. Expertise in coaching gymnastics, basketball, netball or athletics to a high level is a highly desirable quality and this should be highlighted in detail in applications. We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability, imagination and flair to engage and motivate our young people.
