An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Medium Secure Forensic Mental Health Unit at Caswell Clinic. We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual who will provide an advanced level of physical health nursing care, advice, guidance and leadership within the clinic. The individual will be required to utilise their knowledge and experience with a high level of skill and theoretical knowledge to ensure equity of physical health care to the patient population who reside in Caswell Clinic. This will include the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care.
Main duties of the job
A key component of the role will be the individual's ability to work collaboratively with the wider nursing workforce and multidisciplinary teams. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be expected to partake in the development and planning of clinical services within their specialist field, undertake clinical and professional activities such as ward-based work, audits, CPD, teaching and research.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential
* Registered Nurse and current NMC Registration
* Master's Degree or equivalent experience Specialist qualifications Expert level of knowledge in clinical specialty
* Knowledge of service improvement
* Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers
* Awareness of current developments within the NHS
Desirable
* Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Management qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Advanced clinical skills
* Non-medical Prescribing
Experience
Essential
* Experience in the relevant specialty
* Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
* Experience of managing a ward area/department
* Experience of working with pre-registration nursing/midwifery students in a mentorship role
* Experience of undertaking audit
* Experience of using reflective learning to support the development of self and staff
