About the Role
Are you a strong people manager? Do you have a technical/engineering background? If so, we would love to hear from you!
As an Engineering Workshop Manager, you will support and deputise for the Engineering Manager to manage all aspects of engineering performance in the depot, including fleet and environmental management, delivering excellent customer experience, while managing a governance agenda that supports legislative and policy compliance. You will engage front-line colleagues through effective communication.

* Support the induction and development of an engaged, talented and high-performing engineering team.
* Work with the Training function to ensure that engineering teams are competently trained.
* Conduct any disciplinary, grievance or absence management reviews in accordance with Company policy.
* Plan and manage the maintenance and servicing of the fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with all statutory regulations.
* Work alongside the Stores Manager to ensure optimum management of stock, including accurate and timely processing of warranty claims and audits.
* Maintain depot plant and equipment, ensuring all external contract maintenance is carried out in line with contractual agreements.
* Improve engineering and environmental performance in a sustainable manner, with a key focus on improving lost miles and breakdowns, resulting in delivery of agreed key performance indicators.
We'll provide your overalls and all the tools and equipment needed.
About You
We're looking for someone with proven working experience in a management or supervisory role. You'll need to be skilled in workforce and material planning as well as having a strong engineering or technical background. You may have started your career in a hands-on role and moved through the ranks to a managerial position. As this role will be working across multiple depots, it would be a strong advantage if you have experience of multi-depot functions.
* Must hold a full clean UK driver's licence
* Must be a UK resident and be able to prove Right to Work status
* Must have a flexible approach and be willing to support other depots within the Local Business Unit (LBU) as and when needed.
