Overview
We are seeking a skilled Joiner with additional property maintenance skills such as decorating, electrical, and plumbing to join our Supported Housing property maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in joinery and be proficient in various construction tasks such as installing and maintaining fire doors (essential). This role involves working for a maintenance team to provide routine and emergency repairs and maintenance as well as the occasional installation. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety and have evidence of trade experience and qualifications.
Duties
* Install, maintain and repair wooden structures, including doors, windows, and furniture.
* Perform joinery tasks such as cutting, shaping, and joining materials using hand tools and power tools.
* Carry out masonry work as required, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
* Execute electrical installations related to joinery projects when necessary.
* Plumb and roof structures as needed to meet project specifications.
* Conduct painting and finishing work to enhance the appearance of completed projects.
* Lift heavy materials safely and efficiently during the construction process.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in joinery or a related field is essential.
* Proficiency with power tools and hand tools commonly used in joinery.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
* A valid driving license is advantageous but not mandatory.
