Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Psychologist – LD Forensic to work in a mental health service in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The role involves working in a low secure unit for males with learning disabilities, including co-morbid personality disorders, mental illnesses, and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).
Requirements: Qualified psychologist with an interest in learning disability/mental health forensic services.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing clinical, professional, and managerial leadership to the MDT team and ward
* Supporting patients with evidence-based psychological care
* Ensuring a safe, cost-effective service
* Acting as a role model and patient advocate
* Maintaining Information Governance standards
* Promoting good relationships with patients, relatives, and care teams
* Ensuring audit compliance (CQC)
* Carrying out clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists
Preferred skills and experience:
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Post-qualification experience with complex patients, ideally in secure settings
* Supervisory experience is advantageous
* Positive attitude and proactive approach
The role offers a salary of £45,000 – £50,000 FTE DOE, part-time (18.75 hours/week), with benefits including annual leave, free parking, health support, pension schemes, cycle and computing schemes, shopping discounts, and gym memberships.
