Audit & Risk Manager responsibilities include (but not limited to):
1. Take the lead in developing, agreeing, and managing the organisation's Internal Audit plan.
2. Prepare clear and concise audit reports that summarise findings, recommendations, and management responses. Present audit outcomes to management and the audit committee, and follow up on the implementation of recommendations.
3. Continuously assess, challenge, develop, implement, and manage the organisation’s enterprise risk management framework and related projects, focusing on system improvements to mitigate risks that may affect the organisation, its employees, or the people it supports.
4. Enhance the risk register process, monitor the implementation of action plans addressing key risks in the corporate risk register, and ensure accurate reporting to the Senior and Executive Leadership Team as well as the Trustees.
5. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective risk management and internal controls throughout the organisation.
6. Engage with key stakeholders and major projects across the organisation to ensure risks are identified and appropriately managed.
7. Stay informed about industry risk and control issues, as well as emerging trends, best practices, and developments within the wider auditing and risk sector.
8. Schedule regular risk meetings to engage key stakeholders, involving them in risk management and internal audit opportunities, while providing access to relevant training and support.
Audit & Risk Manager job Criteria
1. Extensive internal auditing experience
2. Previous experience within the charity and healthcare sectors (desirable)
3. Understanding and experience of key legislations and governance requirements
4. Excellent written and verbal communication
5. Excellent stakeholder management skills
