We provide 24-hour emergency service and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology and rehabilitation and we're looking for team members who want to utilize their skills to the fullest potential in a fast paced, fun, and stimulating environment. We are currently seeking a qualified Technician Assistant for our Surgery Service. This role functions with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility; a strong work ethic, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and with a team are required. Job Summary The Surgery Veterinary Technician Assistant role is responsible for assisting the surgery technicians and clinicians so they are able complete daily tasks in an efficient manner. In conjunction with patient care, this role is also responsible for surgical decontamination and sterile processing, as well as routine cleaning and husbandry of the hospital ensuring proper infectious disease protocols are followed. Essential Job Functions Stock supplies in all ORs and the surgery preparation area Assist surgeons and technicians with patient care Properly shave and prepare surgical patients Properly restrain patients for procedures Assist in positioning and acquisition of patient radiographs Proactively assist team members throughout the hospital when necessary Enter patient vitals into Cornerstone and complete patient treatments in Instinct in addition to other necessary basic entry into patient record Add items to the want list as supplies are needed Assist in set-up, break down and cleaning of the surgical suites Appropriately clean, wrap and sterilize surgical instruments Maintain surgical instruments and send out for repair as necessary Maintain orthopedic implant and other surgical supply inventory and contact department supervisor or surgery veterinary technician when supply is low Required Education and Experience 1 years of experience in the veterinary field Graduation from high school or GED equivalent Preference will be given to an individual desiring to pursue a degree in veterinary technology or animal science In addition to a competitive salary, TVRH offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Health, vision, and dental Short-term and long-term disability Critical Illness and Accident Life Insurance 401k with employer match Internal benefits include PTO, CE PTO and allowance, uniform allowance, and veterinary services discount.
