About the Tasmanian State Service

The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) provides a tertiary level service, caring for over 1,400 patients annually. The DCCM provides complex and multidisciplinary care to a broad range of patients including cardiac and cardio-thoracic surgery; extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), neurosurgery, trauma, vascular surgery, burns, complex obstetrics, and general medical and surgical care. The RHH DCCM is a fast-paced and energetic environment with opportunities for involvement in various projects, clinical, and research opportunities.
The Role :
The Clinical Coach contributes to workplace activities and works collaboratively to assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving the service goals. This includes the Clinical Coach Portfolio, with active involvement in clinical education, clinical leadership and management, safety and quality, and practice development. The Clinical Coach contributes to positive client outcomes by facilitating the competence and confidence of novice clinicians through clinical coaching.
You will need :
* Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing / midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient / client care in a relevant clinical setting, in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice, and other relevant professional standards.
* Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support the professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Details of appointment :
Permanent part-time, shift worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding, hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary : $99,455 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available :
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility :
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria :
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Midwife.
* Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
* Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g., Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
