S&D Trade Recruitment is assisting our client, a leading Manufacturing and Engineering company based in Helsby operating on a global scale in their search for a Certification Engineer. In this key role, you will ensure the company upholds the highest standards of product certification and compliance, including ATEX, IECEx, and ISO 9001. You will be supported in career development and progression. Hours Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 7.30 am to 12.50 pm, 38 hours per week. Salary £32,000 to £38,000 per annum, dependant on experience. Certification Engineer Key Responsibilities: Managing certification projects for new products and updating existing approvals. Supporting the maintenance and update of trade agent agreements and certifications. Participating in quality and certification meetings with customers and regulatory bodies. Overseeing internal ATEX and ISO 9001 audits, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement. Assist in the delivering of training on ATEX and ISO 9001 standards to new team members and auditors. Ensuring certification documents, reports, and associated technical drawings are correctly issued and filed. Maintaining records of approvals, certificates, and industry standards. Preparing technical reports and ensuring documentation remains up to date. Coordinating with various teams to maintain an updated list of approved products. Addressing customer queries related to product certifications. Working closely with the finance team to manage certification budgets. Supporting the Project Manager to ensure certification and testing projects meet deadlines. Liaising with marketing and product management teams to update certifications on the company website and documentation. Ensuring technical drawings comply with required industry standards. Adhere to company protocols. What We’re Looking For: Essential: Hands-on experience or strong understanding of ATEX/IECEx standards and certification processes. Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing setting. Familiarity with product standards and the approvals process. Knowledge of management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Ability to conduct audits outside of the UK on occassion. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel. Desirable: Familiarity with EN/IEC standards such as EN 62395, (phone number removed). Experience in certification and technical product testing. Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or higher).
