Location: Shuttleworth College – Old Warden

Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time – 38 weeks per week
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Library & Learning Resources Team Leader to join our Libraries and Learning Resources department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Library & Learning Resources Team Leader, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Library Management - Maintain supportive learning environment; coordinate team work; ensure resources match curriculum needs; promote library resources.
2. Student and Staff Support - Provide academic support; train students and staff in library systems; liaise with curriculum teams; monitor online resource use.
3. Team Leadership - Oversee library team; identify priorities; provide training and support; adjust timetables and rotas.
4. Operational Procedures - Ensure smooth running of library procedures; manage stock purchases; deliver induction sessions; maintain records and data.
5. Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity; follow health and safety requirements; participate in training and development.
About you:
6. Education and Qualifications - A Level standard; GCSE English and Maths or equivalent; willingness to achieve Level 2 within one year.
7. Experience - Supervising staff; dealing with the public in a service environment.
8. Skills - Customer-focused; team player; ability to learn new skills; remain calm and professional; prioritise workload; meet deadlines; good organisational and interpersonal skills.
9. Attributes - Positive and mature attitude; flexible and cooperative; ability to handle difficult situations.
10. Flexibility - Able to work flexibly, including evenings.
