A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Human Resources Business Partner to join the HR Best Practice Team - winner of non-clinical team of the year award.
Join us and take a leading role in developing our workforce within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, a key partner in the Buckinghamshire system.
Your main base will be in Aylesbury with minimal travel across sites. We operate a hybrid model of on-site and home working.
To succeed you will need to have demonstrable customer focus, experience of leading on change management, and resourcing and workforce planning expertise at a strategic level. Innovative in your approach, you will understand how HR adds value, will develop effective solutions, and fully engage with senior leaders and other stakeholders to support the delivery of our breakthrough objectives.
Main duties of the job
* As part of the HR Best Practice team, act as the conduit between the Care Groups and People Directorate and a key voice of the People Directorate Activities.
* Work alongside the Care Group management team, leading the local implementation of the human resources aspects of the Care Group business plan, assisting managers in developing and implementing their service strategy, offering specialist advice and support to identify the workforce implications that flow from the strategy and develop initiatives to implement changes that improve performance.
* Proactively develop and implement an HR service to a designated Care Group which supports the work of the Trust through establishing, maintaining, and improving people management practices and skills within the Trust.
* Collaborate with managers and HR colleagues to develop an action plan to improve staff engagement in the Care Group and across the Trust.
* Provide expert change management advice ensuring effective consultation processes are followed in line with employment law and best practice.

Person Specification
Education, Qualification and Training
* Degree level education or equivalent.
* Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice.
* Knowledge and appreciation of strategies to overcome resistance to change.
* An understanding of core employment policies and practices to enable the training and coaching of others.
Experience
* Significant generalist HR management experience in a large, complex and unionised NHS organisation.
* Demonstrable experience of independently managing highly complex and sensitive ER cases.
* Demonstrable experience of supporting ER panels, including appeals.
* Experience of policy consultation, development & implementation.
* Demonstrable experience of being HR lead on employment tribunal cases.
* Experience of acting as a change agent, working proactively to make departmental and organisational change happen.
* Experience of designing, supporting and implementing HR interventions at a strategic level.
* Experience of HR information systems and reporting, including ESR.
Skills, abilities and knowledge
* Ability to effectively deliver training to a range of audiences using interactive approaches to aid learning.
* Proven networking skills on different levels, employing use of tact, influence and persuasion as appropriate.
* Good IT skills, including use of MS Excel and Word.
* Highly numerate, with the ability to analyse and interpret numerical and/or statistical workforce data.
* Ability to write coherent reports, policies and processes.

* Able to perform the duties of the post with reasonable aids and adaptations.
* Ability to travel to other sites.
