PSV Technician needed
Location: Preston
Our client, a leading provider of private coach hire services, committed to delivering safe and reliable journeys for their customers, is seeking a qualified and skilled PSV Technician to join their team.
Role: PSV Technician
Hours: Day shift; flexible hours 40/45 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of PSV vehicles, including buses and coaches.
2. Perform diagnostic checks to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
3. Carry out vehicle inspections in line with regulatory requirements.
4. Ensure vehicles are repaired in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.
5. Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
6. Work with a team to ensure adherence to safety standards and guidelines.
7. Provide support during MOT preparation and testing.
Requirements:
1. Must hold a valid PSV Technician Licence (category [specify category, e.g., Cat D, Cat B]).
2. NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification (or higher).
3. Proven experience in a PSV maintenance role, preferably with experience in repairing and maintaining buses or coaches.
4. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic equipment.
5. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
6. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
7. Good communication skills and ability to liaise with other departments.
8. Full UK driving licence (preferably).
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles.
2. Additional qualifications such as City & Guilds, IRTEC, or similar.
