Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Post CCT Fellow in Plastic Surgery with a special interest in Major Trauma Reconstruction. This is a full-time position with 10 programmed activities.
We are looking for candidates who will help deliver a high-quality Plastic Major Trauma service. Governance, team infrastructure, and support will be provided by the Plastic Surgery Department to aid development. The post aims at providing support to the Major Trauma Centre at the Oxford Road site primarily and to plastic services in general.
Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position under the Trust's International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). More information regarding this scheme can be found on our website.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide:
* Supporting the orthoplastic/trauma service in attaining BOAST 4 compliance.
* Elective Plastic Work
* Skills to enhance the existing trauma service and lower limb reconstruction developments.
* The successful candidate will hold the FRCS(Plast) qualification, and will have achieved a CCT in plastic surgery and will have full GMC registration and a license to practice in the UK.
* The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside medical staff, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
* This Directorate is undergoing an exciting period of transformation; this post will commence as soon as possible.

Person specification
Knowledge, Skills & Performance
* Holds acceptable primary medical qualification.
* Valid Life Support Course (ACLS, ALS, ATLS, APLS or similar).
* Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
* FRCS (Plast) or equivalent.
* Clinical experience and expertise in microsurgery and OrthoPlastic approach.
* Awards/distinctions.
* Logbook evidence of OrthoPlastic experience.
* Involvement in Research & Publication.
