P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking a Senior Terminal Manager to join their team based in Bacton on a full-time permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
Leadership of the terminal staff and contractors as the senior manager on site, promoting company values and supporting the company’s strategy acting as a role model to the team e.g. supporting efficiency change and collaborative working.
Safety leadership, promoting and delivering a positive safety and environmental awareness culture to all site staff, contractors and visitors.
Change leadership, promoting and delivering a positive O&M working practices review and improvement culture.
Act as IBT local incident controller on incidents and exercises.
Represent company in dealings with neighbouring operators.
Operate within the O&M framework including Key practices and principles for both sites.
Health, safety and welfare of all terminal staff, visitors, project personnel and contractors working at the facility.
Ensuring control of work processes and the highest safety standards are applied at site.
Maintain operational interfaces with Terminal Manager and staff in order to ensure safe remote operations of facilities and pipeline.
Communicating safety, environmental, reliability and efficiency goals to site personnel.
Ensuring safety and environmental compliance requirements are included planning and implementation of all maintenance and operational tasks.
Working closely with the Head of HSS&E to implementation of safety and environmental audit programme and represent the company in dealings with inspectors from the HSE, Environment Agency and other public and community groups.
Conducting audits, performance reviews, and managing close-out of actions.
Liaison with Engineering team to ensure site knowledge is considered in change and obsolescent management.
Report on safety performance using, were provided, ERP and database systems provide and advise Operations & Maintenance Director and/or Head of HSS&E on concerns and incidents.
Assist Operations & Maintenance Director in the development of O&M policies.
Apply and maintain the O&M framework including common O&M practices and principles for onshore assets.
Organising the development and management of fit for purpose maintenance procedures relevant to operations and maintenance of the plant and equipment.
Liaison with the Terminal Manager, for all relevant operations and maintenance procedures.
Supported by the pipeline technical authority, administer the inspection and maintenance programme for UK onshore pipeline to include shaft & tunnel inspections.
Organising and scheduling of maintenance activities, including Written Schemes of Examination and Proof Testing Procedures via the Maintenance Manager and other competent persons.
Managing clashes and priorities.
Monitoring and controlling work activities through application of procedures.
Managing physical gas deliveries through efficient operation of plant at both sites.
Oversight of the company’s Operations Supervision and shift team activities, including close liaison with the sister Terminal Manager on plant operational requirements.
Working closely with the Head of HSS&E to monitor compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Ensuring effective control of all Terminal related technical, safety and environmental documentation.
Development, implementation and recording of training and competency programmes for personnel.
Qualifications and Experience:
Min 10 years’ oil or gas asset operation or maintenance experience.
Preferred technical related degree, ONC or HNC equivalent or proven technical and leadership experience in gas terminal O&M.
Project or construction contractor management experience.
Good understanding of and experience of risk assessment requirements and practical application in Process Safety Management environment, ideally in the gas industry.
Good knowledge of the safety requirements of COMAH sites, ideally in the gas industry.
Good understanding of Environmental aspects of operational facilities.
Good spoken and written communication skills and experience of developing procedures on maintenance or operational functions.
Able to summarise complex situations and report on key issues and priorities.
Experience of leading incident investigations, lessons learnt, and improvement discussions, ideally in the gas industry.
Demonstrable ability to manage and lead staff, within a structured performance management framework.
Ability to give constructive performance assessment and feedback.
Self-motivated and resilient with ability to encourage and motivate others to keep going.

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday 36.25 hours a week (core hours are 10:00 – 14:00)
There will be flexibility to work from home 1 day per week.
Occasional travel to the London office and sister terminal required.
