Band 5 - Staff Nurse- Head and Neck - Full-time Fixed Term. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse position within Head and Neck Ward, Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.
Head and Neck is a 14 bedded ward with ENT and Max Fax patients, however our amazing team looks after different specialities each day. We are a progressive ward, with a focus on staff development and advancement with the aim of delivering best possible care to our patients.

Main duties of the job
The Post Holder will be responsible for upholding Trust values and beliefs in order to deliver high standards of care.
Supporting Clinical Excellence
The Post Holder will be expected to:
1. Maintain their own mandatory and role specific training needs. In return, the Ward will support the Post Holder through any further learning they wish to undertake
2. Demonstrate a good knowledge base of surgical conditions and the treatment required, using evidence on which to base practic
3. Demonstrate competence in expanded roles in accordance with the expanded practice policy

Education, Training & Qualifications

7. Completion of a nursing degree programme.
8. NMC Registered Nurse.
Desirable
9. Mentorship or teaching qualification.
Knowledge & Experience

10. Previous Experience in managing airway patients
11. Recent Experience pre/post registration of working in an acute setting

12. ENT Head and Neck experience and knowledge.
13. Evidence of clinical effectiveness, research and audit.
14. Knowledge and understanding of the trusts nursing strategy
