We work a range of shifts with dedicated time for supernumerary duties, such as care planning. There will also be rotation from nights onto days as part of your and the Senior Team training and development.

Senior Health Care Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Health Care Support Worker, you will have or be trained in a number of care and medical techniques. You will register with the SSSC and will work with Rivendell to keep up to date regarding the most recent care techniques available and will always be looking for ways to improve your skills and knowledge. This is a hands-on role. Some common duties and responsibilities include leading your shift and staff team to:
* Assist with daily living activities such as eating, showering, and using the toilet.
* Utilise equipment to assist residents’ mobility when necessary.
* Administer medication.
* Identify and assess residents' care and social support needs.
* Help clean and tidy the resident’s home and personal room.
* Assist with monitoring the resident’s vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
* Talk to residents and reassure them.
* Attend team meetings.
* Assist nurses and other staff when needed.
* Adhere to professional standards.
* Report changes in the resident’s condition.
* Liaise with doctors, social workers, CPNs, and other professionals.
Senior Healthcare Support Workers Skills and Qualifications
Senior Healthcare Support Workers must be able to show empathy and understanding. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that include:
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
* Ability to follow policy.
* Ability to maintain and keep up to date records.
* Clear verbal communication skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* The ability to maintain a positive mindset.
* Capability to develop your skills and knowledge.
* The ability to work well with others.
* SVQ or Nursing qualifications or ability to work towards.
