This is a Junior Clinical Fellow post within General Internal Medicine; this is a fixed term post for 12 months with a view to extend to 24 months by mutual agreement
• Attending ward rounds
• Attending MDT meetings
• Clerking of new admissions
• Undertaking routine clinical procedures on wards
• Follow up management of acute inpatients
• Process chasing of investigations, referrals and procedures
• Prescribing
• Discharge summaries
• Member of the in-hours cardiac arrest team
• Contributing to quality improvement across the pathway
The successful candidate will work within the newly created General Internal Medicine specialty. The successful candidate will be placed on a rota which includes evenings, nights and weekends in which an appropriate banding supplement will be paid. A Clinical Supervisor will be allocated and JCFs are expected to attend the monthly JCF teaching programme.
The post-holders will be expected to support the continuing care of medical in-patients, to participate in the emergency duty roster, and to attend outpatient clinics and procedure lists according to their chosen Medicine Specialty interests.
The post-holder will be expected to participate in the Division of Medicine Grand Rounds and audit meetings and will be welcome to participate in any available further training and study opportunities.
