What we’re really looking for is someone who is passionate about helping people, wants to make a difference and finish their day knowing that they’ve done good! This role is a key role in the delivery of what we do and on a day-to-day basis as well as delivering sessions yourself over 2 to 3 days, you’ll also be deploying, overseeing and line managing a team of coaches – both employed and contracted, other freelance stakeholders and also the educational team. It's your role to ensure that our programmes meet the needs of the local communities!
* Are you looking for a new opportunity in 2024 that brings together your passion for sport and young people?
* Are you community focused?
* Do you want a role where the impact that you make on a daily basis can be seen?
Here at Active Fusion, we're now looking for a new Community Health and Sports Officer to lead our team of coaches, deliver on our programs and help shape our future provision across South Yorkshire.
Active Fusion has been helping the young people of Doncaster and South Yorkshire through the power of sport and physical activity since 2002!
They are now a 20+ team full of passionate people who want to help increase the life expectancy of young people in the local area through 1:1 and group coaching, partnerships in education, and leadership training for young people.
You
You may already have experience working within a charity, but it is not essential for any of our current roles.
This role involves delivering sessions in Doncaster approximately 60% of the time, with the remainder spent across Barnsley, Rotherham & Sheffield. A large part of this role is relationship building in the community to identify needs, which will involve meeting with local partners and stakeholders.
When back in the office, your typical day would involve reviewing what has been delivered, the outcomes achieved, and designing future programmes to meet community needs, including procurement of services, locations, and people.
Our ideal candidate would have:
* At least a couple of years of experience working with young people in education/youth/community settings.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and working with vulnerable young people.
* A minimum level 2 qualification in any sport.
Active Fusion is running a Level 2 course at the end of January, so if you are qualified through experience, it's still worth having a chat.
If you think this role sounds perfect for you, we'd love to receive your application for review at the start of 2024.
