NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our large clients for a HRBP working on a remote basis with occasional travel into the office located in either Crewe, Manchester or Hull. This role is initially for 12 months with the possibility of going permanent for the right candidate.
About the role:
The People Operations will be a point of escalation for employee and manager inquiries on policy/ procedures/ processes. They will manage workplace complaints, investigations, and resolve inquiries swiftly and efficiently with the remaining exception cases escalated to HR process owners, Communities of Expertise, and HR Partners. They will serve as experts in local legislation and have the overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with local employment regulation and legislation.
This individual is expected to be an expert in all areas of HR Policies & Processes, has deep know-how of HR operations and is able to leverage his knowledge to expedite solutions. A reliable and credible source of guidance and information to managers and employees. The position requires strong moral and ethical standards, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, high performance, and work ethics to drive solutions, as well as the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization in the course of their work.
This position is a remote-based position, and may require overnight travel the clients locations, up to 25%.
The People Operations Leader is part of the MyHR Team that supports business operations which includes the country specific number of employees. In unique cases the individual might be required to support more than a country depending upon the number of overall employees and country complexity.
Principal Accountabilities
This position is accountable for the following end results:
1. Responsible for employment related legal and regulatory compliance within the countries supported including for HR policies, procedures and processes and responsibility for all legal and regulatory compliance within the full employee lifecycle for the countries supported. Manage complex People Operations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy and execution in line with local legislation of organizational restructuring and coaching and advising managers to resolve cases.
2. Including workplace complaints, conducting appropriate investigations and Integrity Line complaints assigned by Global Asset Protection. Resolving cases and escalating where appropriate to the relevant corporate groups (legal, Global Asset Protection etc.).
3. Receive and respond to complex HR questions and concerns from managers and employees:
4. Point of escalation and resolution for HR policy/procedure/process queries to provide accurate guidance to employees and managers.
5. Well-versed on Code of Conduct, performance and behaviour expectations, and progressive disciplinary Manage with fair and consistent discipline when appropriate. Utilize discretion and consult with legal as necessary.
6. Develops core competency in HR tools and programs (Workday, LearnEx (AP's learning portal), Navex (AP’s investigations portal), local time/attendance, etc.). This role requires direct action in the MyHR case management system (Service Now) to log and track issue resolution for escalations received. Providing local input and support to managers in scope on talent related actions. Provide country specific inputs as required for workforce planning, employee engagement or talent processes to COEs and/or HRBPs as required. Consults with HR business partners on strategic insights which flows from the business leadership to HR partners, understands and assimilates the union strategy. Leads in the administration and completion of union or works council related activities including negotiations, grievances, union strategy management, investigations, annual contract maintenance, and compliance. Develop and expedite recommendations to CoEs (Benefits, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Experience, Learning & Development, etc.) to improve and streamline HR processes based on employee and manager experience. Be the Face of HR to bring the desired employee experience to life by partnering with other HR verticals under OneHR on people practices and process execution.
What you will need:
7. A bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field or equivalent local HR qualifications as appropriate
8. Hands-on experience as a HR Generalist or HR manager, with a heavy emphasis on People Operations preferably in a manufacturing or distribution setting
9. Expert knowledge of HR laws and regulations
10. Experience with EEO / harassment investigations and general workplace complaint resolution.
11. Experience with conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
12. Self-confidence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to act independently.
13. Strong computer skills required; Workday or other HRIS experience a plus.
14. Ability to handle site travel with an expectation that this role will be field based supporting our sites, plants and offices.
