Norville, began this UK Lens Manufacturer from a small shop in the middle of Gloucester City Centre. Now, with over 100 years of spectacle making, Norville has a fully functional manufacturing line within Gloucester, and two other branches located in Livingston and Seaham. Overview: Norville’s IT Apprentice forms part of the company’s service desk, reporting to the IT Manager the Apprentice will ensure that a high level of internal service is provided managing the day-to-day IT requirements of the business. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:] First line support to Norville employees through the IT service desk ticketing system Liaising with colleagues to provide updates to their queries or projects Onboarding of new starters Main profile Office 365 Outlook Clocking in and Out system Management of the company’s digital access fob Printer network management, liaising with contractor and ensuring the correct supplies are in place ready for use Working with the Norville Group to ensure that all protocols are adhered to by Norville, Checking backups and antiviruses are Up-to-date Field queries from staff regarding potential spam emails or system issues What we are looking for: Good understanding of troubleshooting skills and networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP and WINS Knowledge of android and iOS smart phones PC hardware components & building/repairing PC's Understanding of backups and disaster recovery systems Interest in IT (and IT security), including hobbies and/or education within IT Have a ‘can do’ attitude and be confident to ask for help and guidance. You should be self-motivated to learn and find resolutions to problems Entry Requirements: 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4 (A-C) in any subject GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3 (D or above) Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject. You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
