Wood is recruiting for a Head of Process Engineering Discipline to drive the performance and ensure best practice standards across the Process function for the Systems Integration (SI) EMEA business, within our Digital Consulting business Unit. This is a hybrid role which can be based out of any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Northampton, Staines, or Reading. Reporting into the Technical director for SI EMEA you will drive engineering excellence ensuring timely and quality delivery across all projects with your remit. As the Leader of the Process Engineering discipline, you will be responsible for all aspects of resource management including; recruitment, workforce planning, development and coaching of your team; ensuring high performance delivery and an inclusive and collaborative culture. This operating model being an enabler to support Gross Margin(GM) growth across the Business unit (BU) A highly collaborative approach to the management of a functional discipline to achieve the needs of the business. It is essential to work seamlessly with the other engineering discipline leads, and project management community to make for a cohesive EMEA SI delivery focused function Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the anticipated levels of pressure and high performance with a job profile of this nature Ability to challenge the norm and enhance/develop/deploy a suite of digital tools to ensure effective use of data and resources is a key deliverable for the role Qualifications Skills And Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: ISCED Level 6 /Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 /Masters (preferred) degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience Knowledge & understanding across these fields: Focused on Process Industries Process Simulation P&ID Development Process Optimisation FMEA Extensive broad and deep experience of engineering delivery across automation and controls projects in one or more relevant industry sectors Expert level experience and understanding of discipline engineering tools and processes Proven previous experience working within a fast-paced project environment Broad understanding of the business drivers for relevant industry sector clients Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels of the business internal and external Previous experience in managing a team of discipline engineers at all levels Leads on recruitment and selection and sets tone for culture within team significantly impacts on performance, engagement, productivity and retention of discipline engineering resources Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven Leadership and influencing skills Delivery Focused Structured and organised work ethic Embrace high performing team principles Questioning attitude with excellent problem-solving skills Desirable Chartership with relevant professional body / Professional Engineer License or equivalent A network of contacts across Wood is preferred
