Psychology Graduate aspiring to be a SEN Teaching Assistant, leading to becoming an Education or Clinical Psychologist.
You will work with students who will test your skill and patience to its absolute limit. You will see some behaviour that will shock; it wouldn't be normal if it didn't to start with. You will be working with students aged 3-18 with a range of SEN and SEMH in this provision. Context is king with all of these roles and the students you are working with.
Responsibilities include working 1:1 with students with Mild Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language difficulties, increasing your experience working with SEN pupils of varying degrees of ability and behaviour. All pupils will have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, and every pupil will have an EHCP.
This position provides a fantastic way to gain the practical experience required to become an Occupational Therapist or Educational Psychologist in the coming years. It is an excellent opportunity to secure the references needed to advance to a MSc/Research Project over other Psychology Graduates.
