The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate provides the strategic, professional and operational support to enable the Council to fulfil its responsibilities for early years education, statutory school age education, education in school sixth forms and Post-16 options, as well as a youth service.
The work of the Directorate is organised into six service areas: Partnerships & Performance, Inclusion Services, Targeted Services, Key Groups, Services to Schools, and School Organisation and Access and Planning.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inclusion Teacher within the Education Inclusion Service. The role focuses on supporting schools and settings with the implementation of the new Additional Learning Needs systems and processes, as well as the transition from the Special Educational Needs system.
The role combines strategic development, leadership, and operational delivery of statutory duties. As a member of the Inclusion Service, the post holder will make an important contribution to an ethos of positive collaboration working with other professionals within the Inclusion Service, including the Educational Psychology, Specialist Teacher, Children who are looked after, Electively Home educated and EOTAS teams, as well as line management of some of our Inclusion Transition Workers.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with some leadership experience. A background working with learners with additional learning needs (ALN) and their families is essential. They will act as a source of expertise for schools and settings to enable the Local Authority to meet its statutory duties in relation to children with ALN.
The successful candidate will promote knowledge, understanding, and implementation of the ALN Code and support ALNCOs in developing Individual Development Plans, adopting a person-centred approach. This will involve planning, monitoring, and reviewing the Additional Learning Provision for specific groups of learners as determined in the ALN Code across Cardiff and beyond.

Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (£30,742 - £47,340 per annum) + TLR 2 + ALN allowance (value of payment dependent on experience/qualifications)
