Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support students in their educational journey? GSL Education are currently seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Ringwood on either a full-time or part-time basis, with an immediate start. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with children with additional needs and wants to make a real difference in their learning experience.
The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support, ensuring they have the best possible access to learning. Your role will involve adapting teaching materials, providing one-to-one or small group support, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive.
Responsibilities:
* Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
* Assist in implementing tailored learning plans to meet individual student needs.
* Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
* Encourage students’ confidence, independence, and social development.
* Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as required.
* Support the emotional and behavioural needs of students, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
* A caring and patient approach, with a passion for supporting student development.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* Knowledge of SEN strategies and behaviour management techniques is desirable.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
