Electrical Team Leader
Location: Harrogate, £37339
We seek a candidate with a confident background in commercial electrical buildings maintenance for a public sector role in Harrogate. You will work with and lead a multi-skilled team to ensure PPM's and repairs are completed effectively to schedule.
The role:
1. Hands-on leading of a multi-skilled maintenance team
2. Diagnose and repair electrical faults also assisting with mechanical, plumbing and Building Services installations, plant and equipment
3. Respond effectively to call outs and deal with new situations as they arise
4. Follow good logical process and guidance, regulations and standards that can be demonstrated
5. Working to and allocating work through the FM system to meet maintenance schedule
6. Be part of the on-call rota assisting with major breakdowns, cover periods of sickness, absence and holidays
7. Manage all risk assessments and method statements for work requests and ensure staff are fully briefed on their health and safety obligations
8. Ensuring H & S, COSHH, Manual Handling, CDM requirements are adhered to, undertaking toolbox talks as required and report/assist in the investigation of any incidents
9. Oversee work being carried out by internal staff and contractors to ensure safe working practices, quality and all necessary documentation has been presented and checked i.e. asbestos register, RAMs, H&S, plans, programme
10. Provide training and technical guidance to your team
The Person:
1. Minimum HNC level qualified within Electrical and hold 18th Edition
2. Ideally have served a full working apprenticeship
3. C&G 2391 in Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installation
4. Current Asbestos Awareness certification or willing to undertake such training
5. IT literate and willing to embrace new technologies and more efficient ways of working
6. Knowledge of engineering installation procedures and working practices
7. Previous experience of working within a large commercial environment
8. Confident management experience and the ability to lead, train and motivate a multi-disciplined team
9. Familiar with planning and allocation of work, managing deadlines and dealing with major breakdown incidents
10. Proven background in implementing successful improvements into the maintenance team
11. Experience with a computerised FM system
12. Ideally have some understanding of mechanical system integration and other trades
