We have a great new role become available for a Restricted Intelligence Review Officer to work for North Wales Police at their DHQ in St Asaph.
This role will be working hybrid flexible working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday.
Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to review historic restricted intelligence reports held upon Niche RMS, in order to assess and document the requirement to remove or retain access restrictions held upon them. The overall objective is to release intelligence for wider access where the requirements for restriction no longer apply and/or further sanitise intelligence for release, where restriction requirements may still exist.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
1. Handling and managing intelligence in line with APP and the National Intelligence Model.
2. Utilising NICHE RMS.
3. Policing and/or the use and management of restricted intelligence.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Review designated Intelligence Reports dating back to 2005, upon which access restrictions are applied.
2. Assess the content of those reports and any ongoing requirement for restrictions, based on set criteria.
3. Identify reports eligible for the removal of restrictions and those that require retention, in line with the Restricted Intelligence 'Review, Retain, Release' process.
4. Remove restrictions and release intelligence where justification for restriction no longer exists, ensuring transition onto 'open' systems and domains including the Police National Database.
5. For reports retained, identify any threat, risk and harm, ensuring suitably sanitised 'parallel' intelligence is created for release onto wider intelligence systems.
6. Implement an auditable process for scrutiny of reviews.
7. Set meaningful future review dates for intelligence reports deemed unsuitable for 'release' at the time of review.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality, using tact and diplomacy where applicable.
9. Promote and comply with North Wales Police's Policies on equal opportunities and Health and Safety.
10. Undertake any other duties as directed by a Supervisory Officer commensurate with the post and salary grading.
