Job summary
We are looking for versatile, enthusiastic individuals to join our Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry teams to support us on our improvement and transformation journey.

You must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC with a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or MRCPsych or recognised equivalent. All applicants must have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status when taking up this post.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holders will be responsible for providing clinical care and being the responsible clinician for up to 18 inpatients, depending on which ward the post is aligned to.
As well as providing clinical leadership to the team and liaising with a wide variety of other stakeholders both in the locality and the wider geographical area the trust covers.
The consultants will have the support from the acute inpatient services which is established at 3 WTE consultants. The posts are supported by two Middle grade Doctors who are shared across the 4 wards and 5 core trainees, as well as nursing staff, OT, psychology, and support staff. Each ward has its own ward manager with a modern matron overseeing the unit.

Essential
* Full Registration with the General Medical Council
* MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
* Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview. CCT in general adult psychiatry.
* Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
