Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sister to join our Paediatric Assessment Unit team. The successful candidate will be a registered Paediatric nurse who will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff whilst working to deadlines.
Main Duties of the Job
To function as an expert clinical practitioner within the general paediatric unit, delivering direct patient care while managing, leading, coordinating, and overseeing nursing practice.
The post holder carries 24-hour continuing responsibility for the coordination and monitoring of all clinical activities within PAU.
To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilization of all resources required to deliver optimum quality care to children, young people and their families who attend PAU.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* RSCN / RN Child
* ENB 998 or other relevant teaching qualification
* APLS / EPALS provider
Experience
* Substantial recent post-registration experience in an acute paediatric setting at Band 6 level
* Experience of leading and managing a clinical team
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience in teaching and training of staff
* Evidence of coordinating and managing day to day operational issues on a regular basis
* Leadership ability – completion of leadership programme
