Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Operations Director, the Ambulance Support Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that Arley Medical Services’ fleet and equipment are consistently maintained to meet AMS's exacting standards of readiness. This position is key to delivering exceptional patient care by ensuring our fleet and equipment are not only clean and well-stocked but also fully operational and prepared to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication abilities. This position is crucial for driving continuous improvement and ensuring AMS consistently provides the high-quality service our customers have come to expect.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance and Quality: Follow processes and procedures to ensure high service quality and maintain a good or better CQC rating.
2. Resource Deployment: Ensure vehicles and equipment are available when and where needed in line with AMS standards.
3. Inventory Management: Keep up-to-date records of assets including their location and status, ensuring that missing or defective items are identified and minimised.
4. Consumables Management: Ensure all consumables are within their use by dates and all vehicles and bags are stocked in line with AMS standards. Place orders to ensure correct levels of stock are held.
5. Vehicle Maintenance: Report and record repairs and maintenance without disrupting service, maintaining the operational serviceability of the vehicle fleet by undertaking vehicle inspections and minor running repairs to vehicles.
6. Uniform Stock: Maintain effective uniform stock levels, ordering where required, and issuing uniform to team members as needed.
7. Record Keeping: Keep computerised records of work on stock, vehicles, and equipment.
8. Adaptability: Work within tight schedules and adapt to changes.
9. GDPR Compliance: Follow GDPR regulations to protect sensitive information.
10. Additional Duties: Perform other relevant duties as may be reasonable from time to time.
The successful candidate will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of AMS and effective resource management. They must comply with Health & Safety requirements when using all equipment and materials related to the Ambulance Support Assistant role. The work is conducted in a garage environment, which can experience extreme temperatures, and the job involves physical tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies and washing vehicles. PPE is provided. Due to the location and need to move vehicles around our site, a driving license is essential.
