An opportunity has arisen within our community hospital to recruit an exceptional staff nurse to join the in-patient unit. The In Patient Unit at Teddington Memorial Hospital sits at the heart of community health delivery in Richmond. Our 28 bedded unit supports the rehabilitation and care of local residents who need step up, step down and sub-acute care, and works integrally with our community and specialist nursing teams, our integrated health & social care reablement and response services, primary and secondary care. The staff in the community hospital deliver excellent care to people across the borough of Richmond and they are highly valued by our community. The patient is the focus of our work and the quality of care is paramount. We receive excellent feedback from our patients, relatives and commissioners. You will work as a valued, key member of our nurse-led team.
Main duties of the job
The model of care is led by a senior team that consists of a Clinical Service Manager, Lead Nurse, and Lead Therapists who work collaboratively with an excellent team of nurses and health care assistants also supported by a dedicated team of therapists and general practitioners.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 1st level registration with relevant registration with the NMC.
* Evidence of development beyond basic registration.
Experience
* Sufficient experience of the required competencies for the role.
* Assessing, implementing, and evaluating complex care.
* Working within a multi-disciplinary team, participating in care planning, goal setting, evaluation, and discharge planning.
Skills
* Sound clinical skills appropriate but not exclusive to the following: wound care, continence, palliative care, promoting independence.
* Administration of medications including injections, catheterisations, wound dressings.
* Demonstrates a high standard of infection prevention and control.
* Ability to undertake a shift system that could cover night shifts.
* Knowledge and practical use of information technology.
Knowledge
* Understanding of current professional practice issues: models of care, clinical supervision, revalidation.
* Experience and understanding of managing acutely unwell patients e.g. exacerbations of conditions.
* Able to explain the concepts of multiprofessional working.
* Understanding Adult Safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty.
* Demonstrate knowledge of professional standards including confidentiality and clinical governance.
