We are delighted to offer the opportunity for Band 4 Anticoagulation support worker.
The Anticoagulation support worker will co-ordinate and support the anticoagulation team to ensure excellent service is provided to all patients and service users.
Main duties of the job
Key areas of responsibility will be assisting in the smooth running of the Anticoagulation clinic which includes point of care (POC) near testing for patients as well as providing administrative support. The post holder should have a confident and professional attitude, good telephone manner, word processing skills and be able to use/learn clinical programmes (RAID/DAWN, Cerner). They must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Certificate or qualification in Health and Social care
* Good general education (GCSE/A-levels or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working in a health care setting particularly with anticoagulation clinic in an outpatient setting.
* Certificate in phlebotomy as well as experience with point of care near patient testing
* A good understanding of patient care.
* Customer care training
Skills, abilities and attributes
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
* IT literate with good keyboard and word processing skills.
* Ability to maintain up to date and accurate records.
* Able to work across organisational boundaries.
* Able to work under pressure.
* Able to work autonomously, managing own workload as well as part of the team.
* Familiar with Cerner or any other patient data collection systems.
* Ability to handle challenging situations.
* Willingness to expand on current knowledge base
