Key Responsibilities Pre-placement Support Sourcing potential employers and internship opportunities. Assisting interns in job matching, application preparation, and CV writing. Providing travel and mobility training. Supporting interns with workplace visits before employment begins. Support for Employers Explaining interns’ strengths and support needs. Sharing effective strategies for communication and task management. Providing guidance on inclusive practices and reasonable adjustments. Supporting workplace integration and expectations. Workplace Support Attending workplace inductions and mentoring interns. Training interns to master job roles and workplace behaviors. Setting goals, monitoring progress, and facilitating self-reflection. Creating visual/written aids to support interns in their tasks. Problem-solving and advocating for interns when challenges arise. Additional Responsibilities Liaising with parents, agencies, tutors, and employers. Helping learners search for paid employment. Maintaining records and producing work experience reports. Mentoring apprentice Job Coaches and training new staff. Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements. Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Experience: A good standard of general education (including Level 2 Maths & English or willingness to obtain). Experience in supporting young people with SEND in education or workplace settings. Understanding of safeguarding and equality in the workplace. Ability to work collaboratively with students, employers, and staff. Desirable Skills & Attributes: Job Coach qualification (or willingness to obtain). Experience in a multicultural environment. Familiarity with MAKATON, BSL, or other signing methods. Strong IT, communication, and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development.
