Day to day management of UK payroll compliance delivering a 1st class service to both internal and external customers ensuring that all legislation and governance is adhered to. We operate a weekly payroll with around 6,000 employees and a monthly payroll with around 3,000 employees.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for all payroll reconciliations ensuring all reconciling items are accounted for and investigated and escalated appropriately.
Responsible for the compliance of our pension schemes. Adhering to legislation and regulations and ensuring accurate submissions to the pension’s providers.
Build highly effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be the key point of contact representing the payroll team.
* Ensure awareness and full compliance with National Minimum & Living Wage and Working Time Directive.
* Preparation of HMRC reporting files, gaining appropriate sign off and submitting to HMRC in line with legislation.
* Preparation of Third Party Payments, gaining appropriate sign off and submission of payment and data to providers.
* Maintain and share up to date knowledge of all relevant payroll legislation.
* Provide day to day support to the team and deputise for the People shared services manager when required.
* Support with the timely and accurate processing of the weekly and monthly payroll.
* Support with the payroll system.
* Responsible for accurate maintenance of HRMS system and data in line with GDPR.
* Identify process improvements and work with the People shared services manager to effectively implement and train team members.
What we’re looking for:
* Qualified CIPP or qualified by payroll compliance experience.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation including NMW, HMRC and Pension legislation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
* Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills.
* Able to prioritise workload effectively.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Strong planning, time management and organisational skills.
* System implementation/system configuration experience is preferred but not essential.
