Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Duties
* Operate flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated locations.
* All deliveries are Home deliveries - all stock is manually handballed from the truck on delivery.
* Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing it properly for transport.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or inquiries from clients.
Requirements
* Valid HGV licence with appropriate endorsements.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, will consider new passes.
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.
* Overnight position - may be out 5 nights per week may be out 1 night dependent on workload.
