Job Title: Senior Early Years Practitioner – Room Leader / Third in Charge
Location: Quackers Day Nursery - Banbury
Hours: Full-time, 8am-6pm, four days a week.
Salary: £13.50 per hour / £26,676 Salary per year

At Quackers Day Nursery, we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to grow and learn. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Room Lead / Third in Charge, to take the lead in one of our vibrant rooms, ensuring the highest standards of care and education are met.
Role Overview:
As a Room Lead / Third in Charge, you will be responsible for leading a specific nursery room, ensuring high-quality early years education and supporting the management team in the overall running of the nursery. You will be the third in charge, stepping up in the absence of the Deputy or Nursery Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a room of children, ensuring all activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Supervise and support a team of Early Years Practitioners, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to enhance their professional development.
Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and welcoming environment.
Observe and track children's progress, ensuring that development milestones are met and reporting to senior management and parents as necessary.
Ensure the room is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
Plan and implement activities that encourage social, cognitive, and physical development.
Be a positive role model for staff and children, promoting inclusivity, respect, and the value of diversity.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safeguarding guidelines.
Essential Requirements:
Level 3 Early Years Education and Care qualification or equivalent (required).
Previous experience working within an Early Years setting, with at least 1-2 years of some supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach to child development.
A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
Desirable Requirements:
Additional qualifications in Early Years or Leadership.
Experience in planning and delivering training sessions.
