Role Overview: Equitas are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology teacher to deliver engaging lessons in Construction, Engineering, and Resistant Materials. As a key member of the Design and Technology faculty, you will have the opportunity to inspire students and help them develop practical, technical, and creative skills that will prepare them for further education or careers in the industry. Key Responsibilities: Teach Design and Technology to students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, with a focus on Construction, Engineering, and Resistant Materials. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage students in practical and theoretical aspects of Design and Technology. Encourage students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in the context of engineering and materials design. Manage and maintain resources, ensuring that workshops and classrooms are equipped for hands-on learning. Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential. Contribute to the development of curriculum materials and resources. Support students’ personal development and well-being in a nurturing school environment. Participate in school activities, parents’ evenings, and extracurricular programs as appropriate. Required Qualifications & Skills: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A relevant degree in Design and Technology, Engineering, Construction, or a related field. Strong subject knowledge in Construction, Engineering, and Resistant Materials. Previous experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting (KS3, KS4, and KS5). A passion for inspiring young people and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning. Ability to create a positive learning environment and manage student behavior effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable: Experience of teaching Design and Technology (Engineering/Construction/Resistant Materials).
