Quality Manager
Construction Manufacturing company
Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Full-time permanent hours: Monday - Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm, with occasional early and late hours.
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. Join a very established and reputable manufacturing firm specializing in commercial joinery projects.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing a Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
* Maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and ensure efficiency.
* Managing the audit program as well as supplier development and improvement.
* Working proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement.
* Leading a 'correct at source’ and problem-solving methodology (Lean) to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
* Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.
* Implementing all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance.
* Responding to customer complaints with containment actions, full analysis, and implementing countermeasures.
* Updating quality documentation and communicating lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
* Training others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
* Undertaking internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
* Leading regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
* Producing written reports and making presentations while ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
* Performing any other reasonable duties to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Qualifications:
You will need to have experience working within a manufacturing environment and be positive and energetic, able to work independently. Experience in a joinery environment is an advantage.
