We are seeking a committed and compassionate Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Caldicot. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who want to work closely with students who need additional support with behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Role Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to students
* Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
* Assist the classroom teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
* Build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model
* Encourage and motivate students to engage in learning
* Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and the school’s pastoral team to support student progress
✅ What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or similar settings)
* Calm, approachable, and patient personality
* Passion for education and helping students succeed
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Two recent and relevant references
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
