Position Overview
The Production operative – Grade 3 for Leica Biosystems is responsible for demonstrating leadership in ensuring quality standards are maintained and the principles of GMP and a right first time attitude are adopted to ensure that manufactured product is defect free and suitable for sale, planning and coordinating own work and that of the team and ensuring the work of the team is delivered on time to understand the contribution to the full production team.
This position is part of the Production department located in Newcastle Upon-Tyne and will be on-site. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Have trainer status for all processes in area and train level 1 and 2 operators as required.
2. Be able to represent the department in cross functional meetings.
3. As part of being a SME, own a defined process; maintain standard work for the process, actively look for ways to improve through Kaizen or other process improvement work.
Essential Requirements
The essential requirements of the job include:
1. Experience of working in a FMCG environment or other Production based environment that deals with high value small production run lines.
2. Able to apply self and keen to learn, has attention to detail; always strives to do their best and can be flexible to changing needs and works collaboratively across the full production team.
3. Basic supervisory skills or the ability to lead others.
Preferred Qualifications
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
1. Ensuring that stock accuracy is kept within permitted tolerances.
2. Providing direction to team with regards to principles for stock management.
