Wright Hassall are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Cashier to join us on a full time or part-time (3 days), permanent basis.
This role forms part of the Accounts team who are responsible for the maintenance of the Office and Client bank accounts, ensuring that receipts and payments are allocated in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Process client invoices
2. Set up CHAPS payments; includes obtaining codes etc. Administer petty cash, filing.
3. Support with credit control duties as required
4. Administer client and office bank reconciliations
5. Process cheque requests for disbursements, nominal, client, and office payments
6. Maintain bank account records
7. Any other duties within the scope and spirit of the post as required
Person Specification:
1. Cashier/Banking experience
2. Experience of dealing with large volumes of cash/clients
3. Experience working under the SRA rules or other regulatory environment would be desirable.
4. Knowledge of relevant accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
5. Good understanding accounting / transactional / credit processes / allocating funds
6. Excellent communication skills
