Prince Phillip hospital is a busy, modern and well-equipped hospital which opened in 1990. There are approx. 225 acute and elective inpatient beds, supporting emergency medical cover which is inclusive of an Acute Medical Admissions Unit. There is a 12 hour Minor Injuries Unit lead by GP and Emergency Nurse Practitioners. The medical wards are assigned to Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Stroke/Rehabilitation, General Medicine, Elderly care, and Rehabilitation.Prince Philip Hospital also provides Elective General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Breast and Urology, with the commissioning and development of a 3-4 bedded Enhanced Care Unit for Major Elective Surgical Patients in progress.

Ward 1 - 21 bedded ward specialising in Respiratory medicine, delivering specialised interventions such as Non-invasive ventilation, Optiflo and chest drain management.
Ward 4 - 26 bedded acute medical / cardiology ward. (up to 33 hours per week).
Ward 5 - 22 bedded General Medical Ward specialising in Endocrinology and Gastroenterology. (Up to 27.5 hours per week).
Ward 9 - 29 bedded ward specialising in Acute Stroke and rehabilitation.
