We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cost Accountant to join our team. In this key role, you will oversee the financial performance of bespoke manufacturing projects, ensuring accurate reporting, budget control, and compliance with financial standards. Working closely with project teams, you’ll provide valuable financial insights and support the successful delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities: Manage financial oversight and reporting for manufacturing projects, including budgets, forecasts, and cost variances. Prepare and analyse monthly project performance reports, such as profit and loss, cash flow, and cost-to-complete projections. Collaborate with project managers to align financial goals with operational objectives. Oversee project-related accounting tasks, including invoicing, payment approvals, and monitoring accounts receivable/payable. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for project accounting. Conduct regular reviews of project budgets, identify risks, and recommend financial solutions. Complete monthly stock and work-in-progress (WIP) reconciliations. Support audits by providing accurate project financial data. Continuously improve project accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts at the project level. Coordinate annual stocktakes. What We’re Looking For: Strong experience in cost accounting, ideally within the manufacturing or engineering sectors. Proven expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative.
