Intervention Tutor

Here at Teaching Personnel, we work with local schools to provide high-impact, intervention tuition for those young people with additional needs.
At Teaching Personnel, we are working closely with a primary school in Walsall, who are actively looking for an enthusiastic Intervention Tutor who can join a friendly and supportive school immediately.
This would suit an ECT to develop their skills and gain experience in an educational setting.
About The Role:
1. Enthusiastic about education and teaching
2. Provide 1:1, 2:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs
3. Plan resources around the child’s needs, developing their knowledge in core subjects such as phonics, literacy, and numeracy
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Ensure safeguarding of children
6. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
7. Assist students in their educational and social development
8. Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity
9. Resource engaging and creative lessons to get pupils back up to speed in their learning
About You:
1. Experience supporting children with additional needs (ASD and ADHD)
2. Previous experience in an educational environment or possess appropriate transferable skills to support children with additional needs
3. Full-time availability
4. Experience supporting children with SEN in either SEN schools/provisions or 1:1
5. Behaviour management skills
6. Be flexible to work across year groups/key stages
7. Ability to use initiative
8. Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity
Being able to manage and implement different behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms would be desirable in this role as the pupil will likely have behaviour needs that need to be met.
